Regarding the talk about assinged addresses, how can you define where it STOPS.

Ie, ive set mine at 203.26.74.200..... does that mean that there is only
50ish ips? or does it stop at 253 or so? or will it screw netmasks up?

Also, I asked this before, but noone got back to me.....
Once my portmaster LOST its assigned address number of 203.26.74.200
and became 203.26.74.1.

When someone logged in in allocated them .1 and booted the Unix/auth
server off the net... then some others .2 which booted the portmaster itself.

If it gave .10 my router would have been booted off the net.

Any ideas how that happened? or how I can stop it happeneing again.

Also, HOW do I set assigned addresses so each MODEM has a static IP?
Is that possible?? I want modem1.netline.net.au to have a static IP, so I can
tell what modem easily they were on.
