As a victim of that particular little nasty I can verify that yes,
indeed, there was a major problem with the "middle" BRI on each and every
one of the BRI cards we installed. A livingston support technician (who
shall remain nameless) confirmed that there was a known bug with PM2e's
and NI-1 ISDN switches.
The symptom: ports S15 and S25 on each of my portmasters would quit making
connections after a variable period of uptime. The symptom: Users would
get a quick connect/drop scenario over and over. Rebooting the portmaster
would cure it for a little while. Watching the connection with the
console and set isdn debug on would show the PM answering the call, but
the port status never left "IDLE" and the call would be dropped within 5
seconds.
We are now running beta4 and it seems to have cured the problem, allowing
us to use all 20 isdn channels and not just 18. :-)
If you are having problems with S15 and S25, get beta 4.
