Not sure if it would work, but you might want to look into prompting the
user the host: prompt.

If you can get host: to accept the carriage return, then the next prompt
would be the login: prompt ....

A complete hack. You really should convert your users to PAP. We did it..
it was a pain... we lost some customers because they couldn't handle the
reconfig.. but it was worth it.
