problems with macintosh ppp

I have been trying to get a macintosh to connect to a pme using PPP,
but I have had mixed results. I have looked at the logs from this mailing
list, but didn't find anything that helped.

For some reason, Open Transport seems to be giving us trouble. When
we go back to using MacTCP, all is well, but using OT with the PPP which is
packaged with the Apple Internet Connection Kit, I can't get it to start up
the ppp connection. We have tried this same setup with other dialups
(non-livingston products), and haven't had any problems. Has anyone else
had this misfortune?
