trumpet works great if you use good login and setup scripts and cover all
the opsys/hardware issues the same with each customer everytime... it is
like wayyyyyyy to easy... yes, sometimes time consuming or frustrating...

you guys must have huge networks with complex routing issues or
something... ive have always been able to get a decent 386 with 4 meg and
a hard drive/14.4 modem to function with trumpet.

remember... some of these crap modems need winrpi drivers and that solves
many many problems if you can identify that from the start...

with every customer youy should know...

cpu make and speed
amount of ram
operating system and version
hd size and space free
modem brand and speed, int/ext, 16550's??? winrpi needed?
windows comm driver name, is it comm.drv or aftermarket driver?
do they use hard drive as virt mem? if so set to dynamic use of hd
resources around twice the ram mem amount

do your normal trumpet setup... we use 2.0b mtu 1006/tcpmss966 or adjust
lower as necessary 576/536 or 552/512 or....

is there a virt mem setup? if so set to dynamic... not that damn hidden
win virt mem file crud...

go to control panel, ports, whatever port, settings "always" set speed to
19200 with comm.drv and hardware flow control... making sure that if
winrpi drivers are necessary that you get the customer those drivers from
your ftp site/disk/whatever...

save and restart machine...

config dialin ummm login.cmd with GOOD setup script... good strings for
modem make all the diff after the rest is done properly...

have them connect, and surf away.... or minor debug as necessary...
