Looks about what we use. But:
I followed a suggestion on this list a while back and got the modems
to save settings in nvram so that even after a powerout or user drop,
they could wake up again in auto answer mode (confirmed by the AA light).
Otherwise, they only *seem* to reinitialize manualy (reset all)
rather than on DCD drop (Can MZ confirm?)
I did:
AT&F&C1&D2s0=1&W0\r
*in theory* : "&F" resets all registers to factory-default,
then final "&W0" saves the newly-initialized registers in NVRAM that
will reload on DCD drop or power reset, particularaly S0=1 to "Answer
On Ring #1"
I suspect that more time is needed by the modem to respond to this
kind of init and that these inits should be done piecemeal rather than
in one go, anyone know if there is a "delay" character other than one that
gets sent to the modem (,) like maybe "~" (Did not seem to work) for 1/2
second delay etc. or, is there a way to pace the init as on BBSs?
I manually reset about a dozen times before the modems "got" it, all
the while getting a Saturday Night Fever disco snake-light effect...
Seems to works Fine now though, but the log looks like hell : )
