I think that part of the 'problem' is that we tend to respond to requests
for features fairly quickly for most of them - so when a feature that is
very non-trivial to implement gets requested there is some kind of
expectation that we need a weekend and we'll have it ready. I don't think
any other comm server comes close to the PM in value when you compare
what you get for your money - in all areas. Since it already does so much
there is a desire by some to have a 'do it all' solution from us. While it
would be nice to have all kinds of features, each feature represents some
engineering investment which must be weighed based on the time invested
and the expected return. Obviously if a feature will benfit 10 users and
it takes five minutes, the return is better than a feature that benefits
10 users and takes an hour to implement. It is a semi-subjective process,
and that is grossly over-simplified. Thought must go into the future too -
we may see that a feature will become important as time passes, or another
feature may present a possible clash with other plans so as to be unviable
or require mutation to be viable, etc.
