We do this for every one of our users with Merit Radius and the host
propmt. For a shell login, they type the name of the host they want to
connect to; for PPP they type "PPP" or use PAP; for SLIP they type "SLIP".

Livingston Radius can reportedly be used to do close to the same thing
without the host prompt as long as all of your PPP users use PAP.
