Our solution is easier, though it involved a big of work ahead of time.
We made up a bunch of RJ-11 ends with tip and ring crimped together.
This is handy, since we broke all our lines out onto a rack full of RJ-11
outlets *8-). NOw all we do is plug one of these little gadgets in where
the phone cord went, and it's busied. Previously, we'd short tip and
ring together on our 66-blocks with alligator clips. This didn't scale
well at ALL for outages and whatnot.
