That would busy out a modem. However, I have found that when a modem
gets to the point I would want to busy it out that it won't respond to an
offhook command anyway. You need to get some remote power cycle
devices (or better modems <g>).

I have installed the X10 powerhouse controllers at my remote pop (90mins
away at 70mph) and they seem to work well. the only problem is that I
have to reset "banks" of modems, sometimes booting off active sessions.
