I made a bunch of those a long time ago after getting tired of tieing bits of
wire to the 66-blocks every time I wanted to busy a line. I use USR
sportsters (I don't want to hear it) and noticed that the "phone" jack on the
modem is cut out while the modem is off-hook. You can plug that shorting plug
into the "phone" jack of the modem without disturbing the current call. As
soon as the call drops, the "phone" jack cuts back in and the line is busied.
Nifty.
