We have 2 portmasters, pm2e and pm2er, connected to our local ethernet.
The traffic on the LAN is pretty light, however, sometimes we cannot ping
our PMs. Like this morning, I could ping all the hosts on the LAN except PMs.
Those PMs were still working, answering the phone but couldn't get users
authenticated coz they couldnt reach the radius server. I did a reboot
but it didn't help. Is there something clever with the RIP or ? We still run
3.1.4 but i think it should not be the problem. Hmm...should I run a
script to ping the PMs periodically and beep the engineers, get them off
bed when PMs are doing this again ? Anybody has a idea ??
