If a user uses PAP or CHAP - WE CANNOT CHANGE MTU!
MTU is negotiated BEFORE PAP and CHAP - that is the way PPP is. Since MTU
needs to be set *before* we know who a user is, we cannot use the info in
their user entry to set it. So it gets set to the standard, less if they
request it.
If the user uses a chat script then we know their settings before PPP, so
we use it in MTU negotiation.
I ran into this months back and posted about it here.
There is simply no way to use a users settings to set MTU when the user
is using PAP or CHAP.
