Win95/ComOS 3.3.2b3/4: PPP transfers slow/hanging

OK, well NEW QUESTION/SUBJECT:

Does it appear to anyone else that ComOS 3.3.2b has trouble
with Win95 PPP, with transfers containing multiple large packets
slowing down and eventually hanging?

This symptom is described in the Win95 networking/netbugs
FAQ at

but I only started getting reports with this version of ComOS.
(I haven't been able to change the MTU in Win95 either...don't know
what I'm doing/doing wrong there.)

Clues?
