Seriously somebody please try my hyperterminal suggestion. I want to
know if it's just my network, or a portmaster thing. Have your users
dial-in with hyperterminal to a login shell when they encounter the
problem. Then have them logout right away and try the dial-up
networking. It has never failed to work for me.

At one point I was losing 10 customer a week to this problem, now that I
have a BS solution, I am only losing a couple a week.

Please try it, and let me know if it works for you or not.
