problems w/ MacPPP???

We just started using/testing a PM2e-30 and most people are
working fine, but some of our Mac users are having problems.

They get connected for a few minutes at best and then it just
disconnects.

I had noticed a while back a message about a bug in MacPPP, but
have not found any details about it, so I had one user install
FreePPP and it works like a wonder. I was wondering if anyone
had more info on this.
