Once upon a time David Gorin shaped the electrons to say...
>connection timeout feature of the routers to close the ISDN
>connections. Currently, I have the client nodes send a "keep alive"
>transaction to the server every 5 minutes. Will this keep the pm2e
>from timing out or do I need the server to send "keep alive" events to

Of course, that is what a keep alive does! It keeps the connection alive.
Doesn't matter if you have the server send to the client or the client send
to the server, any traffic on the link will reset the idle timer and
prevent a timeout. The only exception I'm aware of is RIP updates, they
do not count as traffic.
