With proper care and feeding, they aren't too bad...but if you use them,
you will need your local equiv of call-forward-don't-answer, and you will
need to power cycle certain ones occasionally. Then there's also the N
transformers to plug in. I use a sportster at home and am happy with it
for dialout...the sportster lockups seem to be mostly if not entirely a
dial-up service related problem.
BTW...My current PPP session has been active for 4 days from one sportster
to another...so they can work.
