Yes - IF the unit the PRI is connected to supports analog calls. Some do
and some do not - the PM-3 does if you have modem cards installed. The
base chassis is ISDN connections only, no analog. ISDN can carry the
signal without any special options, but it only works when the device the
ISDN line is connected to supports it.

Yes.

You would be able to do this when the channelized dialin support upgrade
comes out.

No we do not. The PM-3 accepts PRI now, and will accept channelized T1/E1
soon, but all of the calls are handled internally. You can't break out, say
half a channelized T1 and use half for modems and half routed to a PBX for
telephones.
>o Is the purpose of "digital" modems inside PM3 to handle just
>calls/communication from analog modems (up to 33.6k) ? ISDN doesn't
Yes. The DSPs are only there for analog modem calls. ISDN is handled on
the base motherboard.
>need any modems, right ? The function of these modems is converting
>analog to digital information, right ? So the name "digital" just

The 'analog' call coming over the ISDN line is actually a digital signal.
So the DSP *is* processing digital information. This is different from
say the current RA6300 where the signal is converted by a codec to a true
analog signal and passed to a modem that then decodes it back to digital
for the data bus.
