Once upon a time Charles Scott shaped the electrons to say...

Right.

Here's one of my first posts on this:

ISP prices:

Base Chassis 1 PRI (T1 or E1) = $3,823
Base Chassis 2 PRI (T1 or E1) = $5,473
8 port True Digital modem card = $1,898
10 port True Digital modem card = $2,365

That means ISPs can purchase a 2 PRI box fully loaded with 46 modems for
$16,364 ($355 per port). The way I got to 46 modems was with 3 x 10 port
cards, 2 x 8 port cards (remember each PRI is 23B + 1 D).

A slightly more conventional way would be 6 x 8 port cards (two spares) for
$16,861 total or $366.54 per port. 48 modems is also what you need for
channellized T1.

A loaded unit for Europe has 6 x 10 port cards and 2 PRI for $19,663 or
$327.72 per port.

That's just about what you can pay for a good modem, like a Courier, a
comm server port, and the cables. And you get this in one case, with no
cable soup, less power consumption, less rack space, easily managed, and
full digital ISDN *AND* Analog.

For ISDN only a 2 PRI T1 is $118.98 per port and a 2 PRI E1 is $91.22 per
port. (Lucky Europeans...)

Remember, these are ISP prices. There will be more details on the web soon.
