We currently have a PM2e and are considering adding a 5BRI for the
purpose of connecting our local LAN and Internet Connection with 5 other
LANS. Each of the 5 LANs have 30-40 users on them. Most of the users
use email, surf and moderate level FTP. We will have 20 Dial-in 28.8k
ports on the PM at the main location as well. My concern is that with
this amount of traffic coming into the PM, will it get so swamped that
it will become slow and useless? I understand that more memory in the
PM may not help either. After all its just a 386 processor in there
right? Any thoughts, warnings, recommendations, etc. Would it be better
to just get a stand alone PM-2i-ST?
Btw, the PM 5BRIs we will talking to Pipeline 130s and 50s at the remote
sites.
