All:
We've had a real problem with a some of our customers who have dedicated
dial-up accounts with their own lines at our POPs. They've had their
connections drop anywhere from 2 to 10 times per day. Anytime I try it, I
stay connected forever, but being as most of these are remote sites, the only
test I can afford to run like that is a login session from one PM port to
another. So, now this particular customer changes from Windows 95 to BSDI
and...well...read for yourself.

Hello guys.

I though you might want to know something about our dialup connection that
I find somewhat interesting.... we have not had a *single* line drop with
our Freeway dedicated modem attached to our new BSDI Unix machine. Not a
single one. I've left the line attached for entire 24-hr periods with no
drops (I always had 2-4 drops a day under Win95).

So, either it's a coincidence and I'm just on a lucky run, or there really
might be some kind of fundamental incompatibility when running Win95
attached via dialup to the portmaster.

Anyway, just thought you'd like to know.
