You don't need to really reverse-engineer anything. BSDI binaries
are drop-in compatable with FreeBSD. In fact, the little toy I got
from Livingston has FreeBSD symlinked to the BSDI distribution. :)
But in any event (this will sound really familiar to those of you who
have to listen to me. :) radiusd compiles cleanly for FreeBSD 2.x with
a few minor changes to the Makefile (you have to add a -lcrypt to the
LIBS line). I've submitted diffs to Livingston which fix this, but you
never know if it'll be included. :) (Support for FreeBSD doesn't seem
to be too high up on their list, probably because it's binary-compatable
with BSDI).
Nonetheless, if it's not precluded by the licensing agreement,
once RADIUS 2.0 is released, I'll put a binary of it on my FTP
site for FreeBSD about 10 minutes after the release. :>
