Loosing static routes (fwd)

Setting a static route to use a gateway that goes up and down (a dial
connectin) is *begging* for a problem. It also produces bad routing when
the link is down.

Right, that is how it should be done. The solution we back is the manage
users in RADIUS and do all of the routing with Framed-Route. I haven't
seen a problem with this.

And it usually clears up problems with non-dial users. The constant changing
of route status seems to bleed over from time to time to effect other routes.
Remove the cause and the effect clears.

I've seen sites with mulitple month uptimes and static routes without a
loss. Any dialup routes they had were handled in RADIUS.
