I'm new to the list, so I don't know what may have been said previously.
However, I don't believe that there is any way to prevent SYN flooding
attacks altogether. All you can do is reduce the chances by filtering
spoofs of your networks from entering your network and by filtering
spoofs of other networks from leaving your network.
