Actually YES! Try this:

1. Establish a PPP connection to the portmaster (any portmaster or NAS on the LAN
you have set up).
2. Open a Telnet session using the IP of the Portmaster you wish to communicate
with.

This works on my system. It should be no different on a Mac (unless you do not have
a telnet program or are not using PPP protocol for your dialup connection). I not
sure but I don't think you can establish a straight Telnet rlogin to a Portmaster
using just the Login:Password port connection without utilizing a PPP link (did that
make any sense at all??)
