Portmaster 2e & Motorola Modems

We are using the Portmaster 2e with the Motorola Online Surfer 28.8
modem; we have found that many modems do not reset properly upon
hang-up. As a result, this creates ring thrus and requires a manual
reset to the port. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem and can
anyone recommend a optimum modem string for these modems.
