new to radius, need help

hi,

i am new to using radius, on BSDI 2.1, and i get this message
repeatedly:

host inetd[157]: /etc/radiusd: exit status 0xff00

i believe i have all the files in the right place, although my
portmaster doesn't seem to recognize the users in the /etc/raddb/user
file.

any ideas?
