Believe it or not, i'm using a few 2e's as plain ol' terminal servers,
connecting several dumb ascii terminals to a central database system (a
Sequent running Unix). So i have a default host set (the sequent), and
each port is configured to connect to the default host when someone turns
on the terminal.

My question is, why are all three of my PMs doing this every 30 seconds or
so?

TCP from 192.42.92.171.1011 to 192.42.92.121.1642 seq 7F, ack 0x0,
win 4096, SYN
TCP from 192.42.92.121.1642 to 192.42.92.171.1011 seq 0, ack 0x80,
win 0, RST ACK

192.42.92.171 is the address of the first pm2e, and 192.42.92.121 is the
default host.

This happens regardless of whether there are any users on, anything connected
to the ports, or even if the ports have been configured yet. One box is
configured as described above, and is in place serving 20 terminals. Two
others have not been installed yet, and have been given only the basic
configuration (IP addr, gateway, domain, name server, loghost). They all do
it.
