No reason whatsoever. We used to use one of DEC's 90T1 routers (a
nice little box in most respects; it's DEC-manufactured hardware
running Cisco's IOS software) connected to a Cisco of some make at
our NAP. We made the move to our portmaster setup, and the only
change we needed to make was from HDLC to PPP. It's actually a lot
of fun doing stuff like that; everyone's Cisco-happy around here,
so I always jump at the chance to throw something from another
manufacturer into the mix. :-)
