MegaZone,

Thanks for the info on what the PM-3 can/cannot do. I know this has
been asked before but I'm going to ask it again. The PM-3 sounds like a
great box, I will never buy one however. ISDN PRI is *way* to expensive
in these parts for I save per month I can buy a fully loaded PM2e-30. It
would be *great* if Livingston could provide an ISDN BRI box which also
has digital modems (ala ASCEND 1800). Density is not a real concern, If
you could rig up a PM2e-30 with say 10 serial, 5 BRI and 10 - digital
modems (on three seperate cards) it would be 'ok'. I would prefer
somthing like 10 BRI and 20 digital modems in one box. Either that or
build an ISDN Switch which can handle ISDN PRI <-> BRI conversion*.

I just don't see me ever buying a PM3, unless of course NYNEX starts
offering PRI at a decent price.

Is Livingston even thinking of this? Did Livingston even research the
difference between PRI's and BRI in most markets?

NOTE: The conversion *can* be done, I have a switch which can do it.
The switch is > $100k so its not cost effective but it can be done.
Basically the switch handled all the signalling on the BRI out to the
Telco and generates its own PRI out to another device. Its doesn't need
to be locked into telco timing (although it would be better if it was).
