Subject: Reverse lookup...

Why do my problems _always_ happen on a Friday night, when the whole=20
world seems to be closed!

I recently installed a remote POP using a PM2ER-30 and an older (ver=20
3.1.4) USR Netserver I had available. Here's basically my setup:

( ) =20
( )------[Local Router]---[Radius/DNS =
Server]
--[My 'Net feed]---( Our Frame ) |
( Cloud ) |Local Ether
( ) | 204.101.212
| |Other PMs etc.
|
[POP Router/PM2]
|
|POP Ether 206.47.201
|
[Netserver]

My "local" system has been running smoothly for about 14 months (total=20
down time not over 16 hours!) DNS is fine. PMs running latest comOS.

Added remote POP. Have PM and Netserver validating on "local" Radius=20
server. Primary DNS is "local" Secondary is "Net Provider". Routing,=20
frame, etc. is fine.

Users log in and everything (except reverse validation!) works fine. =
Once=20
in a blue moon someone hits a site that requires reverse lookup. Works=20
okay on local system with hosts.rev in DNS setup.

How do I get users on the netserver (Class C: 206.47.201) to reverse=20
validate? the Radius/DNS server is on a different segment with Class C:=20
204.101.212. Can I enter the users from 206.47.201 in my hosts.rev =
table?
If so how do the entries look? Is there something I need to enter in the =

Radius file? In the Netserver/PM2?

Your help is, as alway, greatly appreciated.

This may not appear to be help on the surface but buy a copy of "DNS and =
BIND" ISBN 1-56592-010-4, And read it. Somewhere along the way some =
other administrator gave me the same advice and it has proved to be one =
of the best references for me on DNS issues (I have nearly worn the =
cover off my copy).
