These are the two key application reasons. The 1MB of memory must hold the
enabled PortMaster ComOS code and also routing table info. As features are
added, such as the above, or if routing tables expand, such as with OSPF,
the memory can get tight (or run out). These would be the reason for
augmenting memory. To be a bit clearer on ISDN, the ISDN BRI cards come
with additional memory on each card, so the 1 MB should not be a problem in
a PM with all ISDN cards. Also, the upcoming PM3 will include 4 MB of
memory from day 1.
