For all those people that bought BOCA 28.8 rack mount modems:
The 33.6 upgrade is out. I called BOCA and they said that for
people like me that have 30 modems, the upgrade price is
$30 for the first one and $10 for each one after that. There
is no difference between the boards, it is just a rom upgrade.
The modems have PROMS on them now. If you need to know what
EPROM is on the new ones it is a 27C1001-45 I think thats a
128kX8 45 nanosecond part. I didnt find anything faster than
70ns in my catalogs and that was at $13.00 in qty, sooo $10
is an excellent price.
Unless -45 means 450 ns like in the olden days.
(The crystal on the boca modem is 40mhz)
