My (personal) view is that multiple IP addresses on a router interface
is a hack to get around the lack of VLSM, so we preferred to get around
the lack of VLSM by adding support for VLSM. It takes longer, but will
be nicer in the end.
(VLSM is Variable Length Subnet Masks, allowing you to supernet and subnet
on any bit boundary of an address.)
