Over 10,000 writes according to USR. With normal use that is several YEARS
at minimum.

If you are setting the modem you want to save the settings. If you don't
you have a very good chance of the modem picking some other setting from
NVRAM and using it at some point. Just writing it into the modem's
operational memory is no good.

Just how often do you reset your modems anyway? You should be able to run
for very long periods without issuing that string or resetting the modem.

It isn't an issue.
