Well - those guys went out of business and we're stuck trying
to configure the PortMaster to talk to us.
We have a 56K connection to the Internet through an ACC Colorado
router. We have an NT Server acting as DNS, WWW and Mail. (no
radius - they only have about 50 subscribers)
We're connected to them across town with another 56K line through
a HP router (acting as a bridge - there is no 'routing' between us)
We're having a hell of a time keeping people connected and providing
them DNS lookups. And there are a bunch of settings in the portmaster
pointing to their old ISP provider that we don't know how to get
rid of. Some people get logged in OK while others later on get
logged in and can't get any DNS lookups to work.
What do we need for a minimum configuration?
Here is their layout:
10 modems
Livingston PM2 with an IP address of 208.135.133.9 (we assigned it)
Default gateway is 208.135.133.5 (our router connecting us to the Net)
Their assigned IP address for dialups start at 208.135.133.50
The domain is karmak.com
The nameserver is NS2.MCI.NET
We don't need any of the other stuff about loghost, default host,
authentification, accounting, etc.
What about the 'default' routing? Do we need that in the PM settings
and for the dialin users?
We're really flying blind here and could use some help.
Thanks!
Pat.
