Don't know about Frame Relay (though since it is data in a frame, I don't
see why you can't compress and decompress the data at the ends of the PVC
before sending and after receiving the frames) but compression is in
development at least for the PM-3 (daughter card) and Office Router (planned
for software, the CPU has gobs over room left), at least for ISDN, but I
don't see any reason it couldn't be used on a WAN link too.

I'm unsure about compression in the IRX and PM-2, since the CPU doesn't have
a lot of room and the motherboards don't have a slot like the PM-3. Maybe
another generation of the product, it is still being planned.
