I've had a request to forward responses to my question to the list.
Megazone CC'd the list so I won't repeat his.

The problem started here about 2 weeks ago... and only in the evenings when
we have 50-60 on line at one time.....
What I have found is that the Portmaster is slow in sending the "login"
prompt and we have temporaily solved it by having them "bring up terminal
window after dialing", and waiting until they see the "login" prompt. When
the see the "login" prompt they just click "continue" and everything works
fine... You need to also make sure that they have "Netbeui", "IPX/SPX" and
"logon to network" turned off...
I also have an open ticket at Livingston on a "high priority" and for
whatever that is worth I have been waiting for 24 hours + and holding.....
Thanks,
Ronnie Franklin
