PM3A-2E: Callback between pm3 and cisco or ascend

Hi,

we have a PM3A-2E (Livingston'e Portmaster 3 with 2xPRI - version for Europe).
S/N: 2D00050, E/A: 00-C0-05-04-01-D9

Livingston PortMaster PM-3 ComOS 3.5c1

Callback between pm3 and cisco or ascend does not work:

1. ascend p50 calls back, but the ppp-state-machine of pm3 seems not to be able in the correct way to handle the callback, so the connection fails.

both routers connect together first after POWER OFF and POWER ON (from ascend p50 -> pm3, the pm3 -> p50 callback connection does not work)

Further if the connections are cut down by the hand (reset S0/hang up) (not the idle-time-out) see the lines above (OFF, ON - reset on the particular pm3 port does not help).

2. cisco 2503i did not callback, so the outgoing connection of pm3 does not change. (the reason is probably the wrong setting of cisco but after some days of testing ...)

It is very pity that NO ONE support a callback feature on the controll D ISDN channel (it would save one telco unit by callback and simplify the accounting). All german's TCP/ISDN-Routers support such BASIC properties, but have other problems - nobody seems to be perfect!

Any ideas ?

It would be great if Livigston could test portmasters/ComOS with other standards router products (like cisco, ascend etc) and present some working configuration's examples on web-pages. (e.g. pm3 - cisco, pm3 - ascend etc.)
