Once upon a time Rick Wagner shaped the electrons to say...
> Destination: gateway.sakuradesign. Netmask: 255.255.255.224

What is the destination IP?

> Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, Compression, Multilink
> Group: 2 Max Ports: 2
>Idle Timeout: 3 minutes High Mark: 1000 bytes
> Mtu: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
> Username: sakura Password: qzp49a
> Telephone: 2680483

You might want to change this password now.

> How can I get it to quit displaying flushing ptp31 constantly

I don't know what the problem causing it is - we'd have to find that.

>There is a route hanging around after the caller has been disconected for hour
>and ptp31 is associated to it

There will ALWAYS be a route in the routing table for any and all on
demand interfaces. There must be - that's how the network knows that
interface is there to route to in order to cause it to connect.
