Well after 21 lines of explaining "why the heck not", you are still asking
"why the heck not". All the problems that you mention you have with pmmon
and its user database would exist in a user online database version of
radiusd. The technical problems are the same. Even Livingston suggests,
if you need this and/or multi-site authentication, pay the big bucks and
get Merit. (or try ESVA) They (Livingston) probably don't want the
headaches.
