We started that way but had to change things. The reason was that we had
some users which had subnets routed to them and didn't know which PortMaster
they were going to show up on. We ended up putting the PortMasters and their
assigned addresses and some dedicated user addresses in the non-subneted
class C and let the PortMasters proxy-arp for the users connections as they
connect up. This way we only need to have our Cisco router know what
dedicated address to route the subnets to and when the user connection
comes up they get their subnet, regardless of where they connect.
This took some thought to understand but it seems to work well for us.

I know we are supposed to subnet the class C with a 224 mask and assign each portmaster to one of the subnets IE .32 then .64 etc. What I do not know is, what do I do to my Cisco 2501 to make it aware of those subnets and route properly.
