can anyone explain this?

We've got one port on one of our PM2E-30's that is giving us all kinds of
grief. We've switched the modem three different times with varying
degrees of success. The first couple of times, we got nothing but
garbage at the login prompt. This last time, however, we get:

Welcome to Apex Internet Survices

apeh login:test
Pacsword:

Notice the spelling on "Survices", "apeh" and "Pacsword". However, when
I do a "show S21" (the port in question), I find it's configured just
like every other port. In case it helps, we're running 3.3.1 and it's
been up for 2 days.
