LIVINGSTON BREAKS THE REMOTE ACCESS ACQUISITION BARRIER--LEASING PORTMASTER

Pleasanton, Calif., Dec. 23, 1996 -- Livingston Enterprises, Inc., today
announced that it is launching the Livingston Access Leasing Program for
U.S. and Canadian customers. Livingston Access Leasing is tailored for
ISPs, enabling them to acquire Livingston PortMasterTM, IRXTM, and Office
RouterTM remote access products while minimizing their up-front costs and
maximizing their cash flow. With this new leasing program, Livingston
Enterprises provides a one-stop equipment and financing solution meeting a
broad set of ISP remote access needs.

"Huge market demand is forcing Internet Service Providers and other
network-based businesses to rapidly expand their networks. But many of
these businesses don't have the cash flow to fund this growth. We have
created the Livingston Access Leasing Program for these customers--to
provide ISPs the equipment they need while keeping their cash resources
