in.pmd setup on AIX

Hi
I'm setting up an OR on the same network that an AIX box lives, and I want
to attach a modem to the serial port so I can have a pseudo-tty on the
AIX.
I have installed the in.pmd, but I'm not very familiar with AIX so before
I mess it up, is there any place that describes what I need to do on the
AIX side to setup the pseudo-tty.
I didn't find the /etc/remote file, also at what tty id I start?

The OR side is no problem.
