It is also a common phrase used by the British Police Forces (especially
in Police Drama TV Progs. You will hear it regularly if you get re-runs
of that wonderful British 70's show 'The Sweeney'), i.e. the
surveillance operation went TU. Also it might have gone pear shaped or
the wheel could have come off :-)

Anyway, I think we have done this thread to death, what was the original
question ????
