Novell have just released a beta of Radius services for NDS (Novell
Directory Services) which runs as an NLM on one or more IntraNetware
servers. They also have LDAP services for NDS. The great thing about
these products is that they authenicate to the NDS tree rather than a
single server, which means that the redundancy is built into the
operating system platform rather than an individual server, and that
updates to user information is replicated over all servers nominated
within that tree without any operator intervention. NDS is now supported
as a directory service by 85% of UNIX vendors including Sun, HP and SCO.
