As some of the Livingston folks know, another vendor offered us a demo
unit of their NAS. What we did was plug it in, spend a couple of _days_
configuring it with their technician, while at the same time informing our
users that we're doing a demo/test. We also encouraged our users to give
comments on performances. Quite a few users were complaining of bad
connect speeds (as low as 2400) and slow performance. One major client
could no longer handshake even (It was traced down to the telco's poor
lines to that office, but still, they could use that poor lines to call in
to our PM3). (But in fairness, the demo product did work real well with a
sportster variant that has problems with PM3. Also their tech support is
almost instantaneous.)
