Yes, you can't send BREAK through a pseudo-tty (which is what you're
tip'ing to). Set up the ports for telnet device service instead of
portmaster (and use telnet instead of tip to connect of course).
Telnet's escape char followed by "send break" will send a BREAK on the
serial port (tried it just now with ComOS 3.5).
